About Me

Who is this mysterious person who calls himself WunderKraut?
I really hate to disappoint you, but I am just an ordinary guy. An ordinary guy with a wonderful wife who grew tired of my yelling and throwing things at the TV while watching the news. Her helpful solution: Why not write about the things that frustrate you? That pretty much sums up why I stepped into this whole blog thing.
I graduated from Georgia Tech in 1998 with a degree in Civil Engineering. What is that you may ask? Well, I am the type of engineer that makes sure your water works when you turn it on, the stuff you flush down the toilet gets to the right place, rain water runs off your property and your streets are designed correctly. I have been practicing for 10 years and became a Professional Engineer in 2003. The WunderFamily lives in a small town three hours south of Atlanta, Georgia.
I am a conservative Christian and have been happily married since 1995. WunderWife and I now have four wonderful WunderKids. Their current ages (2008) are 8, 6, 4 and 1.

The WunderFamily
This website started out as a way for me to showcase my hundreds of Simpson’s and various movie sound clips. I had collected sound files for years and one day back in 2003 I decided to teach myself HTML and to set up my site.
My main interest had always been in military history, but more and more I found myself drawn to politics. For awhile, I banned myself from watching the evening news, as I would get so mad that it would rub off on the wife and kids. My outlet became this website. My little sound site evolved into a conservative political blog.
I was a hard core blogger for about a year. From February 2005 until March of 2006, I posted several times a day on political issues/news and I grew to be a medium sized fish in the blogosphere. My posts would occasionally be picked up by big name bloggers and I even was able to gust blog over at Ace of Spades and WILLisms.
It was after my month long guest blogging stint with Ace of Spades that I crashed and burned.
Blogging is a tough business. When I started, it was easy to be the “first” with a story, but as technology finally caught up with this new thing called blogging, it became harder and harder to be first. Feed readers, news readers and a swelling blogging population ended it. The big dogs stayed the big dogs, but all of us little fish had some choices to make. It was obvious I was never going to be a big dog, as I was already investing way too much time into my blog and I knew there was no way I could keep up the pace.
Quite frankly, I was tired.
I had burned out.
On March 6, 2006, I officially pulled the plug on blogging.
I had just gone through some amazing changes in my personal life and in my walk with the Lord. WunderWife and I were very excited about what God had in store for our family and since I was tired of blogging anyway, I gave it up.
My blogging Hiatus lasted for one month. Around the beginning of April, Will from WILLisms asked me to guest blog. It would be a short stint and he had other guest bloggers, so I would not be expected to post very often. After thinking it over, I decided I would do it.
On April 6, 2006, I opened the blog back up. Well, I started back half heartedly. Then it dawned on me, I have nothing else to add to politics that hasn’t already been said or will be said by others. Besides, I had grown tired of doom and gloom. In November 2006, I decided to make my blog a general blog about my life and my family. Sure, I would do the occasional political post, but by and large the blog would be politics free.
I have some very loyal readers who also happen to be amazing people. I hope to meet some of them in person as time goes on. It is my goal to have entertaining posts about my life that turn you into a loyal reader as well.
Take it easy.
