Chad Evans from InTheBullpen.com has a great bit about the unconstitutional filibuster of President Bush’s judicial nominees. His take on the matter is dead on, especially the part about the Democrats wanting to “compromise”. Tell them where they can go and push the item to a head.
As I have ranted recently, the Republicans need to show some leadership. Sometimes that means making tough decisions. I am convinced that they are on the right side of this issue and that the American people will figure that out if the Republican leadership find their ‘nads and stand up for the Constitution.
Says Chad:
I am a Republican and I’ve made my stance clear on numerous political viewpoints, however I am losing faith in the Republican party for allowing the Democrats to hold the cards in this debate. The Democrats are not playing the part of the minority party; they are playing the part of obstructionists and this is hurting the United States Judicial Branch as well as the entire United States Democracy.
Again let them vote. Make your arguments pro or con and let the Senators decide. Not only did we the people vote our Senators into office to vote on measure that effect the country, our taxes pay for them to vote and not act as obstructionists or dogs with their tail between their legs.
Preach it brother!
UPDATE: Ace of Spades is hearing that Sen. Frist may be willing to compromise with the Democrats. Hopefully it is just Democratic spin, as he reports. But if it is the truth……then I agree with Ace when he says:
In related news, millions of voters just agreed to “compromise” with the GOP. The compromise involves us voters sitting home on our ass next election day while playing Wheel of Fortune drinking games (drink when anyone asks to buy a vowel; chug if that vowel turns out to be “F”) and then giggling as we watch Republican ex-Congressmen figure out how to make an honest living.
Come on guys! You can do better. Lead!
