I know it has been a little slow around here this week. I am sorry. Things at home and at work have been hectic to say the least.
Today looks to be no better, at least until tonight when I should have more time. In the meantime I am off to look at some government housing and a new sink hole here in WunderTown.
The main reason for the busyness is that my wife and I are in the process of adopting a baby from China. We have been getting all the information together and having physicals and getting things notarized. That in itself makes life a little bit busier than I like. The other part is that it unfortunately takes a lot of money to adopt. To that end I have been doing some engineering work on the side. My boss does not care as long as it is not in the city or county in which I live and work. So every evening I have been slaving away at a rail spur design. I am very grateful for the extra work and I pray it continues, but it just wears you out a bit. We currently have enough funds for the first half of the process. I am pursuing other extra work and we are looking at some church fundraiser type things.
If you are a wealthy benefactor type person…I accept bad, third party, out of state checks, or you can just use PayPal:
My wife is keeping a journal of the adoption process. Go here to read all about Mei and our quest to bring her home.
Don’t worry, I will not torment you any longer with endless personal issues!

[...] Part of the problem is that WunderWife and I are leaving tomorrow morning to go to Atlanta. We have to get fingerprinted by Immigration/Homeland Security as part of the adoption process. What? You did not know we are adopting? Well, go check out this post and it will fill you in. [...]
[...] WunderWife and I had to go to Atlanta this past weekend to get fingerprinted by Immigration/Homeland Security. This was necessary to complete our I-600A – Petition To Classify Orphan As an Immediate Relative. We are currently well along in our quest to adopt our daughter from China. (see post here and journal here). We stood in line on Saturday with people from all across the world. There was an Indian couple in front of us. There was the Hispanic family behind us. There was an aging Asian couple at the table being waited on. There was a family from Africa just entering the facility. And on and on and on. It was an amazing thing to see. Seeing all this made me think about a few things. [...]
[...] WunderWife and I are off to Atlanta for an International Adoption Seminar that our agency wants us to attend. (info on adoption here) [...]
[...] As many of you already know, WunderWife and I are adopting a baby girl from China. We are well into the process and are about to send off our dossier to China. Once it is in China, it will be about 6 to 8 months before we are referred our daughter. Then it will be another month or two before we go to pick her up. [...]
[...] Until we send all our adoption stuff to China, everything seems like it is on hold in my life. That seems to be spilling over into work and blogging as well. Lately I have had the overwhelming urge to do nothing. I know it is all related to the adoption currently being held up. (For background on the adoption see here and here.) [...]
