I have written somewhat on this topic. I broached the subject during the whole apologizing for lynching thing. You can read my lasted post on that topic here. You will find links to the other posts there as well.
Anyway, Rob from Say Anything, guest blogging on Wizbang, has a post today about the NAACP going after reparations.
Money quote:
If these folks at the NAACP are truly interested in lifting their people from the hole slavery has put them in then I suggest that they stop living in the past and start living in the present, where some focus on education and family values would go a long way toward helping the situation today’s blacks are in.
I guess I will have to get a second job to pay for the reparations that they will demand from me. After all, old Anderson Talley owned slaves back before the Civil War. I guess I am some how responsible for him undertaking a LEGAL venture in owning slaves. It may not have been a moral thing to do, but it was legal.
How can you “punish” companies and individuals for doing things that were perfectly legal? How can our courts standby while this happens? Oh, yeah, they are not involved. All the companies who voluntarily or who fell victim to the race hustlers are now going to have to continue to pay the “protection” money. When people warned companies such as Chase that they were setting themselves up for further problems, those people were labeled racist fear mongers. Now who is laughing? All these companies did was the dirty work for the race hustlers. They dug through all the paper work for them. It is as if they loaded the gun and handed it to them. What’s left to do, pull the trigger?
Michelle Malkin had a post about this concerning the treatment her ancestors endured. The question remains: why treat African-Americans differently then other groups who were abused? Talk about further dividing this country. Way to go guys.

I said this before, but for you and your readers sakes I’d like to repeat it.
Since I am 1/8th Chickasaw, 1/4 French, 1/4 Scottish, and 4/8ths English, How many times have I disenfranchised myself in history?
Correction, 3/8ths English, Sorry.
