Man, what gives? I write a nice long post Monday the 11th, about an NPR story concerning our borders and I even get my first unhinged Lefty commenter yet it takes until today, the 14th for the Washington Times to notice the story? Come on, you could have at least given me credit for it! Ha!

Oh well. See Michelle, you should have linked my post. You would have been so ahead of the Washington Times and other MSM outlets. But no…Oh well.

Never fear. No matter how discouraging it may be, my serial link whoring will continue.

What do bloggers do when we find we have written a post so bad it makes us cringe that we even hit “publish”? Why, we Burn It !!! Stealing Borrowing the idea from last week’s host, I put on my official Harry Potter sorting hat and separated the good…

  3. [...] A fellow blogger (Hoodlumman from File It Under) and I were emailing each other about my last post concerning nuking Mecca. He was jokingly pointing out that he beat me to the scoop, but ah! He was wrong. I beat him by about an hour!!!! It is good to be first. I explained that I had emailed my post to some of the big names in the blogsphere, but to no avail. He agreed and once again it looks like neither of our blogs will get a bone tossed to us by the big dogs. Such is life as a small, upstart blog. In order to get your name out, you have to be a total link/submission whore. What does that mean? Well, you submit posts to every Carnival that is out there. I know Wizbang has a “Carnival of Trackbacks” each weekend where you trackback your best post of the week. Others have similar things. The trick is to consistently submit your posts to other blogs who have more traffic than you do. It is hard and usually frustrating work. Just getting on someone’s blogroll can be challenging enough. When I first started my “official” blog back in February, I searched and begged every blog I came across to add me to their blogroll. VikingPundit and Willisms were the first to actually link my site. I am forever indebted to them. But it takes daily link/submission whoring to keep your name out there. Now I know why the big guys have guest bloggers. If you are gone for a few days, you lose readers. I just want readers. I will never make a dime off this page, but the whole reason I got into this thing is because I feel that I have some good ideas and opinions to offer. But just stating your opinions and then having no one read them, well, that gets old. [...]
