Update: I remembered something I wrote last year in an essay:
They [Iran] hate Israel because, well they do not need a reason, they are Arabs, thus, they are born hating Israel. Can you imagine how cool the leader of Iran would be to the rest of the Arab world if he nuked Israel? Well, the memory of him would be cool, as he himself would be a crispy bit of charcoal after the counter strike by Israel.
Iran.
They want nukes.
They say they want them for peaceful purposes.
The world bends over to make sure not to offend the Iranians. Gee, they seem like nice people.
Iran keeps working on “peaceful” nukes.
The world talks.
Israel gets nervous.
Why should Israel get nervous?
But wait, I thought Iran wanted nukes for “peaceful” reasons? Now you are telling me that they want to destroy Israel? I am confused and shocked? Who could have seen this coming? Who?
Actually, most Conservatives have been claiming for years that Iran’s goal is the destruction of Israel. Here is what their leader, not some fringe whack-job, their leader said:
Iran’s hard-line president called for Israel to be “wiped off the map”
—
“Anybody who recognizes Israel will burn in the fire of the Islamic nation’s fury, any (Islamic leader) who recognizes the Zionist regime means he is acknowledging the surrender and defeat of the Islamic world,” Ahmadinejad said.
—
“As the Imam said, Israel must be wiped off the map,” said Ahmadinejad, who came to power in August.
On a side note, am I the only one who thinks that Ahmadinejad’s parents just randomly picked letters to make up his name?
It is only a matter of time before Israel pulls off another Osirak style attack. They will be condemned to hell for taking action, but what choice do you have? If they do nothing and Iran nukes them, what excuse will they have for allowing millions of their countrymen to die and their country over run by Islamofascists? Iran has clearly stated it’s goal. Only a fool, or a Liberal, would take Iran at their word that they are interested in peace.
Peace my ass.
Wake up world. When your enemy CLEARLY states his goal to be the complete and utter destruction of another country for no other reason than for the religion of that country, YOU HAVE TO TAKE THEM AT THEIR WORD. There is no, “Maybe we misunderstood them” or “Maybe if we understood the root cause…”.
Bull Sh*t! Wake up people. Iran and the rest of the Islamofascists want Israel gone because Israel is full of Jews. There are NO OTHER reasons.
File It Under had a great photo comparison of how the world views Iran’s nuclear plant versus how Israel views it. Too true.

The whole mindset toward these people reminds me of the movie ‘Mars Attacks’. The martian translaters were translating their words into ‘we are you friends. we will not hurt you.’ even as they chased people down the streets blasting away at them with their ray guns. yeah, maybe we’re just misunderstanding them. maybe the dove IS a symbol for war on their planet.
The problem is, as I see it, they’ve never eaten bacon. I think it effects the mind.
You make an excellent point Cullen. Bacon. Indeed.
Ah, the pig. What a magical animal!
All this talk of pork is making me hungry. And afraid to drive over the speed limit. Im reminded of an essay that i wrote one time. It went something like this:’the importance of peace to me means that i will have to write this paper in invisible ink.’ 3 pages later:’the end’. All im saying is that I dont think we’ve seen all there is to see on the matter. And just for the record…theres no such thing as peaceful nukes.

Er, while I agree with much of what you said here, Iranians are not Arabs. Farsi is an Indo-European language, closer to English than it is to Arabic.
[...] In my post Now Do You Believe Me and in a follow up post Oh Now I Feel Better… I posted about Iran publicly stating their desire to see Israel wiped off the map. He agreed with my points but took issue with a quote that I included from one of my old essays: They [Iran] hate Israel because, well they do not need a reason, they are Arabs, thus, they are born hating Israel.
