Oh man. Thomas Sowell speaks the truth today. Regarding the current war we are in and the West’s preoccupation with terrorists rights and naval gazing:

It is as if we were on the Niagara River and wanted to go ashore before it was too late, but did not want to turn on the motors for fear of disturbing the neighbors with excessive noise.

But at that point, the choice is between being serious or being suicidal.

I fear we will not wake up. We have become so sophisticated in our thought that we can not fathom the true evil that is terrorism. It is as if we can not believe the there are groups out there that can not be reasoned with. If we understood them better, if we changed our policies, if we spent more money, then they would sit down and talk with us so we could work through our differences. NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. We are at war with people who hate our very way of life. Just the simple fact that we allow our women to vote and to hold jobs and to get an education is enough for them to wage “holy” jihad against us for eternity. Don’t you get it? Can’t you see? We can not reason with these people. You can only fight them and kill them in order to preserve our way of life. Look, they have stated that it is their goal to destroy our way of life. How much more of a warning do you need.

Wake up! Before it is too late.

Maybe it already is…

The squeamishness, indecision and wishful thinking of the West are its greatest dangers because the West has the power to destroy any other danger. But it does not have the will.

Do not look for Europe to support any decisive action against Iran. But look for much of their intelligentsia, and much of our own intelligentsia as well, to be alert for any opportunity to wax morally superior if we do act.
