After reading Chavez's diatribe about the US, I can't help but think of Zell Miller's speech at the GOP 04' cnvention!

Never in the history of the world has any soldier sacrificed more for the freedom and liberty of total strangers than the American soldier. And, our soldiers don't just give freedom abroad, they preserve it for us here at home.

For it has been said so truthfully that it is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us the freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech.

It is the soldier, not the agitator, who has given us the freedom to protest.

It is the soldier who salutes the flag, serves beneath the flag, whose coffin is draped by the flag, who gives that protester the freedom to abuse and burn t"hat flag. "

(poster now) and if I may add, it is the (American Soldier) who gives Chavez the freedom/security, to pop off as he did in NYC todday!

The fact is, is that this clown can go to NYC and plead that he is being mistreated, whilst everyone in NYC is bustin their butts to make sure that doesn't happpen! It's stranger than fiction!

Hi W/K, I just finish reading "The Flag's of Our Father"s about the "2nd" raising of the flag on Iwo Jima! Your US Marines are the best fightig force in the world. Your's is a great post.

I feel I must submit a post to you about what Canadian soldiers are doing in far off lands.

It was a very good turn out. Probably 3/4 full. Lots of the Jr. ROTC kids from the surrounding schools. It was fun to see them. They cheered and were spellbound like the rest of us. It was lots of fun to see them go up to the Marines like they were Gods.

I saw quite a few kids who probably came from the wrong side of the track talking earnestly to some of the Marines. You know, sometimes it only takes one event in a kids life to change him forever. Hopefully that happened last night for those kids. Hell, it was hard for me to resist the urge to get into shape and enlist.

It was fun.

Cullen, I was looking for you. I figured you would have been there. Sorry you missed it.

I wish I didn't have class last night. This is the second year I've missed the performance. Oh well, next year.

Looks great. I'm so glad they moved the location to the Civic Center. Was it packed?

Aw, Kraut, I'm crying. You did a fine, FINE job capturing the spirit of the evening and I am SO incredibly glad you and those gorgeous children had a chance to see them. (I first took Ebola when he wasn't much older than that and he had the same mesmerized reaction ~ exceedingly gratifying to his mum.)

Thank you so much.
