As we were leaving a meeting with the City Manager, one of my guys says to the 2nd in charge of Parks and Recreation:

My Guy: See ya.

Recreation Lady: It was good to see you too

Me: Hey, he didn’t say it was good to see you…

Unfortunately she did not hear me, but we thought it was very funny.

But that’s how it goes. We are so use to hearing certain phrases that we automatically repeat the appropriate response.

After checking into a hotel, the lady behind the desk said:

Lady: Enjoy your stay.

Me: You too…

My wife looked at me like I was crazy.

Oh well.
