Today is the day. Well actually, yesterday was the day, but today was the big day.

Yesterday around 3:15 in the afternoon WunderWife and I were heading home with all the kids when we got a call from our adoption agency…

Yep…we got our referral yesterday!

WunderWife screamed and about drove us into oncoming traffic. She pulled over so she could scream some more and cry and scream. It was wonderful!

We have been waiting for over two years for this day and it finally came.

But…

The best part happened today. Today we got to see our daughter for the first time. They emailed us pictures. It’s hard to believe. There she is. Our daughter.

I just want to hold her in my arms. These next 6 weeks or so until we travel to China will be the longest. Apart from the doctor, I’ve always been the first to hold our babies. Seeing her picture…man, I need to hold her…

She is 9 months old and was abandoned at the local power company in Fengxi (also known as Fengchaun) which is not far from Nanchang and is in the Jiangxi Provence.

Here are the pictures. They were taken about 3 months ago, so she is bigger now. My favorite is the first one:

We are so excited!!!!!!!!!

We had WunderWife’s sister video us getting the email. Here it is for your enjoyment:

It has been a day and I am on cloud nine.

Dude that is awesome! She is a cutie, and thus will fit right in with her brothers and sister.

Awesome! When do you guys leave? How much longer until she’s home with y’all?

I’m very happy for you guys!

Fantastic! I am psyched for you guys. God bless you all in this. (AND - you have got to get them to give you the orange wicker stroller. That thing is tremendous.)

  4. WOOT! Congratulations!

Congratulations! Kim told me the other day. On the TWLP it is on the homepage. Since you will be going to Nanchang province adoption affairs, you will essentially be doing the same trip we had. Don’t hesitate to ask questions. Also, get the Lost Girls of China DVD from National Geographic. It takes the same trip to Nanchang and goes where you will go too. PS: Tell Wunderwife we have the car seat that snaps in….she and kim know.
    God Bless,
    Dennis
