I was listening to the radio tonight while heading home from picking up dinner. The opening lines of Living Colour’s “Cult of Personality” came on and I immediately turned the volume up.

I’ve always like this song. The guitar, the lyrics and message. After listening to it again, it sure seems this song fits Mr. Obama. Come on America, wake up, this guy is downright scary:

I sell the things you need to be
I’m the smiling face on your t.v.
I’m the cult of personality
I exploit you still you love me

I tell you one and one makes three
I’m the cult of personality

You gave me fortune
You gave me fame
You gave me power in your god’s name
I’m every person you need to be
I’m the cult of personality
Look into my eyes, what do you see?
Cult of personality

I know your anger, I know your dreams
I’ve been everything you want to be
I’m the cult of personality

Wow.

Here is the video. Silly Sony BMG Music won’t let me embed it. Jerks.

Vernon Reid is an amazing guitarist. Vivid wasn’t my favorite album by them, 1993′s Stain was better, but it introduced the MTV public to jazzy metal. And that was cool
