We a ton of rain this weekend.

Sunday evening we were heading to the store when we saw a beautiful rainbow.

The camera phone does not do it justice.

It was fun to watch people’s expressions when they saw it. I pointed it out to a lady, who haphazardly looked up as if to say, “uh huh”, but then she did a double take. There were two wannabe gangsters in the parking lot who looked up and snapped a picture with their phone. There was an older couple taking groceries to their car who noticed the rainbow and the wife went digging in her purse for her camera.

Rainbows are cool.

I will now be the three groups that saw the rainbow….

1)Lady - “That rainbow sure is beautiful”
2)Wanna be gangsters- “That rainbow is dope, dawg.”
3)Couple- “Now, Hiram…where is my camera ain’t that the purdiest rainbow you have ever seen? I just have to get a picture to show the ladies at the book club tomorrow…”

Okay, so here we are hot and dry and have fires going all over the place. Do you think you could possibly share a little bit of that rain?

If I could, I would…I’m having to cut my grass every 5 to 6 days…and it’s still too tall when I do it that often.

    Sure looks purdy though.

Besides, you live in the desert don’t you? What did you expect?

I don’t live in the desert. Ain’t nothing to burn there.

Nice valley with lots of vineyards. But not much rain in the summer, and this fire season has started WAY early.

Much of the area outside of town looks like this.

That sure is lovely. I need to come visit some day.

    You anywhere near Redding?

  8. My house isn’t, but the ranch is about 30 miles or so.
