Why WunderKraut?

Why name a website WunderKraut.com?
Back in 1996-97, I had a few of my college buddies over for dinner and I was showing them the new Wingman joystick I had just bought. At that time, I was playing the game called Aces Over Europe, so I made up a fake name and hopped into an ME-109.
The name of the character? Yep. You guessed it: Barron von Wonder Krout.
My buddies thought it was a very funny name and a few weeks later one of them mailed some computer component to me and he addressed it to Wunder Kraut. Since that is the correct spelling, I started using it as my computer gaming name. I still use WunderKraut when I play online games.
I always wanted a website and I figured I would use my WunderKraut nickname.
In 2003, I taught myself basic HTML and coded up a few pages in order to showcase my vast database of Simpsons and other movie sound files. It was around that time when I discovered blogs and I began getting back into political discourse.
As a result, WunderKraut.com evolved from a sound file site to a blog.
In the end, there is nothing symbolic of the name. No weird, hidden meaning. Nope. It’s just the result of a quick decision back in the mid 1990’s. Sorry if this ruins the mystic of this site.
Man, I need to make up a better story next time…
